Minnesota GreenCorps is an AmeriCorps program coordinated by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA). Each year, the program places members with host site organizations around the state for 11 months to support responsible environmental stewardship while increasing community resilience to climate change and training a new generation of environmental professionals. Members gain marketable skills in the environmental field, make a difference in local communities, and grow their professional network serving at a host site for the AmeriCorps term.
Members are eligible for many program benefits, including:
An AmeriCorps living allowance of $1,027 ($14.50 per hour) every two weeks. This stipend is taxed as income.
Option to enroll in health insurance with 100% of the monthly premium paid.
An AmeriCorps education award of $6,495 to pay future educational costs or repay qualified student loans upon successful program completion.
Opportunity to defer payment of federal student loans while serving. Accrued interest will be paid upon successful program completion
